Black Music Seen: Conversations in New York

Join us for a live, on-stage student conversation recorded for the Black Music Seen podcast, featuring Juilliard students Wynter McCray, and Shania Watts. This candid discussion centers the real experiences of college and conservatory students navigating classical music today—touching on artistic growth, future goals, personal strengths, challenges, and hopes for the field ahead. Host Brittney Bryanna Burgess, co-founder of Black Collegiate Musicians, will also share insights into the organization’s mission to build community, advocacy, and support for Black students in higher music education. Recorded in front of a live audience, this conversation offers an honest and timely look at the next generation of classical musicians.
